What is Chronic Pain?

It’s not what you think

In recent years, research into the nature of the brain and its role in our experience as humans has uncovered fascinating (and good) news about chronic pain, conditions, and symptoms. We now know that they are caused by a nervous system that is stuck in a fearful place, and a brain that misinterprets signals from the body.

Stressed out brains…

Think about what it’s like when you’re having a stressful day, you’re running late, or you have a lot to do… How does the world feel? Is traffic horrible? Are those around you irritating? Do you feel restless, uneasy, and upset? Most of us can relate to this… We are more “sensitized” to stimuli when we are stressed: noises, smells, and regular occurences take on a heightened and almost painful flavour.

This is what happens when we have a dysregulated nervous system and a stressed out brain: sensations in our bodies become painful, our digestive, circulatory, reproductive, and nervous systems get stuck in stress mode, and regular events becomes painful, ongoing, symptoms and conditions.

What is neuroplastic pain?

This is called neuroplastic pain: pain that is in the brain, although it feels like it is in the body. This is GREAT news because it means we can support the true origin of the pain using proven techniques: this is called Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and includes somatic, emotional, and nervous system components that will absolutely reduce and even resolve your pain and/or conditions!

Take our assessment to find out if you are experiencing neuroplastic pain.
